Currency: Trinkets
Below, we'll explore the main ways of earning trinkets.
Foraging
Magnolia Token (Springtide Event, 2018), Wild Firefly, Galaxy Serum, Khimera Instant Birth Potion
To start, go to Khimeros Central, choose an area (Beach, Mountains, etc) and click "forage here". By clicking in various places on the landscape image you will find hidden items. Most items require a trinket fee to pick up, however, there are also items that are free to pick up, mainly trash and event tokens. Once you find an item you will need to click on the button that matches the "captcha". If you are quicker than other foragers in the area, the item will be deposited into your inventory! When you are first starting out, be sure to pick up all the trash that you find. You can take your trash to Arabasti in the Mountains, and he will make sure it is properly disposed of, and give you trinkets in return!
You can forage as much as you want and pick up as many items as you want every day.
Activities
Pyro, the Games Master
Most daily activities that award trinkets and/or items are conveniently linked from the Activities page, accessible from the main navigation bar! This is the best way to earn daily trinkets, and some activities will even award valuable items and beads if you are very lucky.
Hint: Be particularly sure to play the dice game, as you can play once per hour for regular users and once every half hour for upgraded users! The dice game gives out items and event tokens as well as trinkets, so it's well worth it to play often!
Selling and Releasing Khimeras
Once you have a few khimeras, make sure you start breeding them right away! You can sell khimeras to other users, or release them from their profile page.
Up to 20 Khimeras can be released in the Meadow per day for a profit. You can receive trinkets, extra breeding slots, items, and even beads!
You can also sell khimeras in Auctions or Trades. For extra advertising, you can post in the forums.
Selling Items
Most items on the site, aside from foraging items, are limited release. They will cycle out of rotation after a period of time. This includes items won from Quests, Dice, and other games and activities, as well as from event shops. Many items will thus increase in value over time, as new users join the site and wish to purchase these items that are no longer in circulation from their individual source. It's a good idea to hang onto items that are currently of low value, and sell them later when they are more rare.
You can put items up for sale in Your Shop, in Trades, or in Auctions. For extra advertising, you can post in the forums that you have items for sale!
Selling Creative Works
You can earn site currency by selling your creations to other users. Quality Platinum Khimeras and Khimbits are highly sought after (PSDs can be downloaded HERE). You can also sell other creative works in the forums.
Bead Market
If you want a whole lot of trinkets right away and you have beads on hand, you can sell them in the Bead Market!
