Growables are still a work in progress and in the interests of full disclosure, they will likely be so for some time to come. However, we feel that they are still functional and fun enough to go ahead with the Gold Growables ordering even though the feature is not at 100%. At this time, we do not anticipate limiting growables in any way other than via the current limiting of growth slots in the garden and lagoon. Hopefully these restrictions can be loosened up in future when we have made some changes to the code and have a way of removing unwanted growables from the site via "turn-in" activities. However, we cannot promise that this may not change in future. As most of you know, from time to time we do tend to make big changes to features that means major restructuring ^^. Color locking a layer to a single color is not available at this time. However, some layers such as foliage on plants may be configured to always have a green "tint" for example. A "gold growable" is a growable item where the base is provided by the site and the markings are created by Hibbary based on your order! Each order consists of 3 markings that are used together on the same base to form the master seed owned by the commissioner. You provide the name for your marking set! You can sell copies of your gold growable seed or egg. Currently there are 4 bases you can order. Drapurr Fleur Spring Peony Spring Rose Gold growables cost 60 beads and 3 copies of the master seed will be provided with the order, along with the original master seed. The commissioner can sell copies of their seed in the Special Shop, with a 2 bead tax being collected by the site for each seed generated (we originally anticipated offering them for 50 beads, but the time required and complexity of adding each new growable to the site means that we can only offer them at the 60 bead price point). An "Eye" marking is include with the Drapurr and Fleur, and a "Foliage" marking is included with the Peony and Rose (foliage on the rose and peony are tinted green). If you wish to request a marking that extends outside of the lines (like glitter/mist/flames) it will be an additional 5 beads per marking. These markings will have a random opacity with each completed growable. Extra markings above the first 3 may be purchased for 10 beads each for markings that stay within the lines, and 15 beads for markings that extend outside the lines. The artist has the right to reject any markings that are overly complex. The commissioner should be as specific as possible when requesting their markings, and providing image references is encouraged. All markings, however, are "artist's interpretation" only. That means that a commissioner cannot ask for changes unless the markings they receive are fundamentally different from what was requested (for example, the user asked for spots and received stripes instead). The artist and site staff reserve the right to reject any markings that they deem to be unsuitable for any reason. Therefore if a commissioner feels that they they will be disappointed if the markings are not exactly as they envisioned, we ask that they NOT order a gold growable. A user cannot "own" a marking - for example, more than one user can request leopard spots. Each user's version of leopard spots will be drawn individually, but for obvious reasons there may be a strong resemblance. As an additional note for new users who may not be familiar with "gold" customs, these items are completed by Hibbary in between official site work requirements. This means that while in some cases they can be completed very quickly, in other cases it may take quite some time to receive your finished item. If you have questions regarding Gold Growables please submit a Help Desk and we would be happy to help! 5 Comments |

Have you ever wanted to ask me a question? I mean, aside from harassing me in the live chat, but we all know how that goes.. Well, now is your chance to do exactly that. So what do you need to do? Follow the Official Khimeros Tumblr blog, and send me a message. (You can do so by clicking on the little envelope on the left hand side of the blog, or just click here.) I will answer as many questions as I can, but I will only answer the questions I wish to. Inappropriate questions will be ignored. If you cannot figure out if your question is inappropriate or not, then I suggest you not send it my way. While you're visiting this lovely little blog, remember to reblog posts. You can also use the #Khimeros tag whenever you post something of your own about the site, so whoever runs this thing can share it on the Official blog, too. Social media is all about being social, right? Make sure to keep checking back on the blog, too, for future fun and events! Now go do your humanly social media thing and spread the good word. 5 Comments |
Shortly after leaving the strange petrified wood, Onyx and the Woodsman found themselves entirely in a new environment. This dry barren place must be the legendary Badlands. "This is one of the few places I've never explored on Khimeros, and I'm not really looking forward to doing so now," Onyx exclaimed as she glanced at some bleached bones. "I don't know how anything could survive out here." As they climbed a sandstone incline, dull drumming surrounded the pair. In the next step, the dusty wind rustling The Woodsman's flowered beard carried yips and howls. Turning around, all they could see was the strange dead landscape, but the sounds became louder. It was like singing, and the reverberations bounced off the many rock surfaces, making it impossible to pinpoint the source. Suddenly they were surrounded. Yotes! Hundreds, maybe thousands of them, dropped from the sky, jumped down from rocks and up from crags. They weaved around Onyx and The Whimsical Woodsman, dancing and singing with such abandon that the travellers weren't sure if they were even noticed in the ruckus. And then everything froze, the sound, the motion. A small, old Yote parted the sea of now quiet creatures and made its way to the stunned and gaping duo. In a voice that sounded as dry as the ground they stood on, the Yote spoke, "Hello newcomers, what brings you into our lands?" Blinking Onyx snapped into her awareness. "We are searching for a flaming Embarr, his name is Pyro, have you seen him come this way?" "Ah yes, he passed this way not terribly long ago. We could show you the way. Although it seemed not to be by his own accord, he was with..." the old Yote's quiet voice was drown out by the sudden uproar of song and stomping. A moment later the pack all took off in the same direction, singing and dancing as they went. There was nothing that Onyx and The Woodsman could do but chase after them. Yotes have been spotted all over Khimeros, in the Forest, the Forums and Dice! Invite them back to your den, maybe they will tell you who Pyro was with! Hi all! Onyx is still traveling but I wanted to share this letter she just sent back home. We're still "hot" on Pyro's trail, but putting out small fires or smothering hot spots isn't fast work so we haven't caught up yet. We're so glad everyone has been taking care of the Glade! The Whimsical Woodsman has been so helpful in this journey. He's very skilled with his axe, quickly creating fire breaks by cutting down trees with a few hacks. Well, excluding the trees we just came across. A small brush fire was burning and I set to putting it out while Whimsical started cutting the trees next to it, just in case the wind picked up and moved it into their branches. Everything was going well until there was a loud bang, and a yell, and then a moan. I quickly smothered a flame and went to check it out. There was Whimsical, sitting in his typical alluring way, but holding his hand and looking remorsefully at his axe and a large stump. He explained that he was simply chopping it in half to move it out of the way, but instead of slicing into the wood as usual, his axe bounced off! I examined the stump and found it wasn't a stump at all! It was solid rock! The outside of these false logs look just like regular bark, but on the inside there is glittering rock in every color imaginable. Alazyn, the swamp dragon who is always keen on special finds, just stopped by and gathered some up for the treasure trove! The land has started to change, but until I came around those trees I hadn't realized how much. We are seeing less and less forest, and more dry open spaces, and there seems to be a canyon in the distance now. Hopefully we can pick up the pace as the forest thins and less fires are present, but I am now also worried we might lose Pyro's burning trail. Still searching, Onyx 6 Comments |
